Archeological investigations: Surface collection of two stone artefacts from chert
Short description: At the Lower Stuckensee ("Unterer Stuckensee”; Fig.1) two lithic artefacts were found at a distance of about five metres to each other. One of them is a proximal flake fragment and the other one is a piece of debris possibly with flake negatives on it. Both are made of a rather granular, dark grey chert variety (Fig. 2). The flake was found in loose soil on the south side of a hay barn and the debris was found directly on the hiking trail up to the Filmoor cabin. It is possible that these artefacts are the remains of a prehistoric camp site on the terraces above the Lower Stuckensee.
Place of conservation of the finds: Municipality of Sillian/Kartitsch/Obertilliach/Untertilliach (not yet handed over)
