The relationship with other minorities

 

 

 
One of the Institute's aims is to maintain the relationship above all to the Friulian minority and the Romansh one of the Grisons , because these minorities are the closest to the one of the Dolomite Ladin area as far as the language and the culture is concerned. Besides this, it is important to know and be in contact with other ethnic-linguistic minorities, if you think about the aims in common which concern the preservation of the unique linguistic-cultural richness, thanks to which every minority is able to define itself as such.

 

Therefore the participation of represen - tatives of the Ladin language group in conferences is relatively large and they also visit quite often institutions which work for the preservation and the promotion of other minority languages.

There are also numerous visits from representatives of other ethnic-linguistic minorities to the Ladin Cultural Institute “Micurà de Rü”, during which the director or also other collaborators of the Institute present the activities of the Institute and explain the present situation of the Ladins of the Dolomites.
The director of the Institute during one of the conferences held for the various delegations, which come to the Ladin valleys to understand better the reality in which the Ladin minority lives.
Scholars of the junior and senior high schools come from the Grisons and the Friul to receive information about the Ladins of the Dolomites.
