The Institute for Ladin Culture organizes scientific conferences about important Ladin topics. Various questions, which have not been solved until now, e.g. the origins of the settlement, the development of the language, the history, the sociolinguistic transformations in the Ladin valleys, etc., are discussed together with experts in order to get to the bottom of them. |

These conferences, with the supporting programmes, should stimulate the interest of the population for scientific topics, which otherwise are discussed only amongst specialists. Among the conferences organized in recent years, the one bearing the title “ad Gredìne forestum” is worth mentioning. It was the scientific highlight of several events, which were organized on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the name Gardena (”Gredìne”).
In 2002 a conference titled "Rhaeto-Romanic colloquium" was organised in San Martino in Badia (Badia Valley), at which experts in Rhaetoromanistic of different European universities were present.
